Hey Reader,

If you're struggling to get new clients or job offers, the issue is the perception you're feeding into the world.

If you're a freelancer, do you have a system to get people to become customers?

If you're looking for a job, do you have a system to get job interviews?

Here's what the cycle looks like:

  • Get people to notice you (Attention)

  • Give people something interesting (give value)

  • Get to know people more (build a relationship)

  • See if you can help them solve a real problem (and get experience doing it)

  • Build demand (because you're good at helping people solve their problems)

At the end of the day, people will pay you to solve their problems if...

If their problem is big enough to solve.

If they believe YOU can solve their specific problem.

This goes for:

  • People looking for jobs (employees)

  • People looking for clients (freelancers & agencies)

The problem is that you don't have the skills to make people believe.

Belief is what sells.

If you don't have a system to sell belief, then you don't have a system, you have a wish.

Let's get out of wish-land.

Let's get into Belief-land.

First. - how do you create belief?

You create belief by indoctrinating yourself into a pattern of thought.

In layman's terms; you think about something long enough to turn it into a belief.

When you hear something long enough, it becomes a belief.

Think about what you see on LinkedIn everyday.

----------

Im guessing your LinkedIn feed looks something like this:

  1. "This AI tool saved me X hours and made me Y dollars last month."
  2. "This simple hack made me X dollars last month"
  3. "AI is replacing jobs left and right"
  4. "The job market is changing before your very eyes"
  5. "Salesforce is changing their ways..."

----------

Most people would never believe any of these stories if it wasn't in their face every. single. day.

If there was a different narrative - people would believe something else.

So... what you think about constantly changes your perception.

Your thoughts change your perception.

So how do you change your perception?

You change what you think about.

Which means you change what you look at.

You change what you read.

You change who you talk to.

You change what you listen to.

You change your environment.

If you want to change your perception, you need to change what goes into your brain.

That goes for you and it goes for other people.

If you want to get a job, talk to different people.

If you want to get new clients, hang out in different places.

Join different groups.

Go to user group meetups.

Go to conferences and talk to people.

You have to change your environment if you want to change your perception.

When it comes to landing a job,, you need to be around people who talk about getting jobs.

You need to hang out with people who have jobs.

You need to hang out with people who talk about finding jobs, not people who complain about no jobs.

If you want to get new clients, you need to hang out with freelancers who have clients.

You need to hang out with agency owners who are landing clients and who have a system for landing clients.

If you want to change your perception, change your reality.

Its not easy, but it is simple.

That's my message for you today.

Change your environment.

The simple process

Choose a new group to hang out with this week if you want to get clients.

Join an agency or freelancer group if you're looking for new clients.

Join job groups if you're looking for a job.

Ask your clients if they know anyone who needs the help you provide.

Offer to help people for free - stop scrolling social media and start helping.

Build something you're proud of - this will gather more people to you than anything else.

Most of all - change your mindset and you'll change your perception.

When you do new things you get new results.

The perception you create is a result of the environment you surround yourself with.

A great book to help you change the perception of the people around you is:

I recommend reading it and taking notes.

Marketing is Perception.

Change your perception, change your reality.

Change your reality, change your life.
